Patterns and Principles of Prayer, Part 2
Prayer is vital to our spiritual growth. This does not mean, however, that a strong and effective prayer life comes naturally. Instead, as Dan Southam notes, we must remember our dependent, sinful, and spiritually vulnerable condition. In response to this humble posture, God promises to provide for our needs, forgive our guilt and protect us from overwhelming temptation. Prayers that point to theological truths and end in faithful expectation will bring glory to our Savior and edify His people.
