Job Summary: First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland (FBCGC) seeks an innovative, tech-savvy, and visionary Communications Coordinator to join our team. This part-time position is essential for enhancing the church’s connection with its community, fostering spiritual growth, and expanding its impact through creative and effective communication strategies. The Communications Coordinator will develop cutting-edge communication approaches that resonate with our congregation and the broader community. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Communications Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor and other church leaders to ensure all communications reflect the church's evolving direction and collective goals, fostering a unified and impactful message. Key Responsibilities: • Strategic Communication Planning: Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and church leadership to develop and execute a forward-thinking communication plan that drives engagement, growth, and community impact. This includes innovative approaches to digital and traditional media. • Website Management: Ensure that the church’s website remains current and user-friendly, with all events, services, and programs accurately reflected. Regularly update and maintain the site to ensure consistent and clear communication with members and the wider community. • Event Promotion: Design and implement multi-channel communication strategies to promote church events, ensuring high visibility and engagement across diverse platforms. • Digital Innovation & Content Creation: Lead the creation of compelling digital content, including graphics, videos, and interactive media, which captures the spirit and values of FBCGC’s ministry. Utilize emerging technologies (e.g., live streaming, podcasts, virtual events) to enhance the church’s digital presence. • Social Media Leadership: Oversee the church’s social media accounts, driving innovative campaigns that increase followers, foster community interaction, and extend FBCGC’s reach. Stay current on social media trends and implement new strategies that align with the church’s goals. • Brand Consistency: Ensure that all communications, both digital and print, are consistent with FBCGC’s brand, mission, and vision. Develop and maintain brand guidelines that reflect the church’s identity and values, ensuring that information is cohesive and accurate across all platforms—whether it’s the website, social media, printed materials, or other communication channels. • Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders to gather stories, insights, and content that highlight the life of the church. Foster a collaborative environment where communication supports and enhances all church activities. • Innovative Analytics & Reporting: Use analytics tools to track the effectiveness of communication strategies, reporting regularly to the Director of Operations and Senior Pastor. Use data-driven insights to refine and improve outreach efforts. • Event Photography and Video: Capture, edit, and produce high-quality photos and videos of church events to enhance promotional and archival efforts. Explore innovative ways to present content that engages both in-person and online audiences. • Ministry Alignment: Ensure that all communication efforts support and align with the church’s overarching mission and ministry goals, as guided by the church’s leadership. Collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor and ministry leaders to reflect the church’s vision and values in all public-facing content. Qualifications: • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field preferred. A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a communications role, ideally within a church or nonprofit setting. • Technical & Design Proficiency: Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms are highly desirable. Experience with video editing software and digital content creation is also highly desirable. • Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a creative flair. Ability to craft compelling messages that resonate with diverse audiences. • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Social Media Expertise: In-depth understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, with experience in developing and executing successful social media campaigns. Familiarity with WordPress and website management is a plus. • Mission-Driven: A deep understanding and appreciation of the values, mission, and vision of First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland.
