Biblical Counseling

The realities of sin and suffering make life difficult. As fellow strugglers, we want to help you amid your troubles and share the good news of Christ with you. We want to listen to you, love you, and share the hope the Bible brings with you in a way that brings light to darkness and despair.

For those in the midst of difficult seasons of life or dealing with sin or struggles, we offer counseling with a Parkside-trained counselor as well as seminars and workshops on marriage and other specific topics.

  • Spring 2025 Counseling Workshops - How People Change, Helping Others Change

“We invite you to celebrate with us a grace that not only forgives, but changes us from the deepest, darkest corners of our hearts to the smallest action and every idle word.”

How People Change by Timothy Lane and Paul Tripp

All Christians should be in state of change, becoming more like Christ, but that isn’t achieved through simple behavior modification. It’s achieved as the Lord works in our hearts and transforms us from the inside out. Join us as Pastor Jonathan Holmes guides us through two workshops on a Christ-centered perspective on change.

    How People Change
    March 1 | 8:30am-3:30pm | The Venue

Life is hard, which in turn makes establishing new routines difficult. Through this workshop, we’ll study the intricacies of the human heart and how Christ transforms us through our experiences. A light breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided.

This workshop is based on How People Change by Timothy S. Lane and Paul David Tripp, available at Books by the Park.

    Helping Others Change
    March 15  |  8:30am-3:30pm | The Venue
    Required prerequiste: How People Change

Helping other people is one of the most basic ways we fulfill God's commandment to love him and love others, but sometimes we don't know how to help. In this workshop, we'll equip you to walk with others who are hurting. A light breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided.

This workshop is based on Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands by Paul David Tripp, which is available in Books by the Park.

    Registration

Registration is $20 per workshop or $35 for both. Kindly note that these workshops must be taken in order. You will be able to complete registration for the second workshop only after you have completed registration for the first (links below).

If you attended How People Change in a previous year and you would like to attend only Helping Others Change, please email Meghan McDevitt at mmcdevitt@parksidechurch.com.
