It's not always easy to invite someone to church. Friends or neighbors, even though they may have little to no experience with church, may be hesitant to attend an actual church service and see what it's all about. We may be hesitant to invite them, knowing that their experience is limited, or worse, that their experience with church hasn't been a good one. Many who don't know us may drive on Pettibone Road every day, yet never think of Parkside as anything more than that large brick building they see as they head to Home Depot.

On September 18, we have the opportunity to reach out to those individuals and invite them for an afternoon of fun and enjoyable family activities. Our goal is simple. We want to introduce the community to the people of Parkside, and we're calling the event Community Day!  This day is specifically for them! We're hopeful that it will be an easy invite, and something that the surrounding community--our friends and neighbors--will be glad to attend.

What to Expect

On Sunday, September 18, from 3-7pm, Parkside's parking lot and fields will be transformed into a place for games, live music, and fun. In this festive atmosphere, we will be serving free food: hamburgers, hotdogs, popcorn, ice-cream, and cotton candy.  There will be a petting zoo and pony rides for younger children, along with balloons, face painting, and a variety of games.  Older kids will be able to take part in corn hole, basketball, a climbing wall, mechanical bull, and surfing simulator.

How Can You Help?

• First, please join us in praying for this day. Pray for those you plan to invite, and pray that those who attend will be blessed by the day, and will want to learn more about Parkside and ultimately come to know Jesus Christ.
  
  
• Second, please help us get the word out! Plan on attending and bringing friends, family, or neighbors with you.
  
  
• Third, please get involved by serving at Community Day. This event will take many hands, and with everything planned, we need and want your help! Volunteer Here.

Two Upcoming Dates

In preparation for Community Day, we are setting aside time to invite people from the surrounding communities. Join us at 1 pm on Sunday, August 28, and/or Sunday, September 11, at Parkside. We'll meet for lunch in the Venue, then head out to drop off door hanger invitations and cards. If you plan to help pass out materials, please RSVP here for the Aug. 28 and Sept. 11 dates.
