Since September 27th of last year, Parkside Church Westside has met each Sunday morning at the Garfield Middle School in Lakewood, Ohio. With the help of a dedicated group of volunteers, a trailer full of sound equipment, stage risers, and children’s ministry supplies are trundled into the school’s cafetorium (cleverly named for its dual purpose use as a cafeteria and auditorium) to set up for our Sunday morning service.

From the start, our hope has been to see God bring people together from Cleveland’s Westside communities who are diverse in age, ethnicity, and economic background, but find unity through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Over the past year, we’ve been encouraged with a steadily growing and diverse congregation and have seen many faithful attenders rise to serve others in our small, but vital, group of ministries.

This past year has also marked a number of firsts for our church family:

• We’ve worshipped together on Sundays
• Shared in the Lord’s Supper
• Celebrated baptisms
• Welcomed a baby dedication
• Met together during the week in our Community Groups
• And, sent our youth group on their first retreat

While our first year has passed, there many more firsts to come for our young church. With God’s help, we look forward to the future when we will add more elders to our leadership team, add more locations for our Community Groups, and find a more permanent place to meet.

We thank you for your prayers and visits to our church plant and are grateful for our partnership with Parkside Church in Bainbridge. Your support and friendship to us since the beginning has proved invaluable and we thank God for you in our prayers. If you haven’t visited us yet, we invite you to join us at 10:00am on Sundays for morning worship. If you have friends or family who live on the westside of Cleveland, we encourage you to send them our way for Sunday service and our Community Group meetings during the week.
