- Details: Pray for safety for the 16 people from Parkside who are traveling to Huaraz, Peru today to attend the Huaylas Quechua Bible Dedication and support Mark & Patti Bean and their team of Bible translators. Team members are: Eric Bean, Jessica Bean, Malachi Bean, Catherin Dahlem, Marisa Feliciano, Lauren Golias, Andy Gusmano, Bill Mills, Laurie Mills, Patrick Murphy, Dan Pillot, Kristin Presley, Pat Presley, Karus Troyer, Andy Wyatt and Ruth Wyatt. Dedication events will take place on the weekend of August 9-11. The main dedication ceremony will be on Saturday, Aug. 10, with other activities planned for Friday and Sunday. Pray that the team will be an encouragement to Mark & Patti. Thank God for His faithfulness in helping this Bible translation get done and printed. Pray that as people read God’s Word in their heart language, they will come to know Him as their Savior. The team returns to Cleveland on August 14. Sri Lanka (Asia). Tolerance and non-violence have historically been watchwords of Sri Lanka. However, this multi-religious, multi-ethnic country now sees religious extremism and persecution rising. Pray for: a) the disarming of the spiritual powers and principalities that heavily influence a very religious society. b) the exposure of Buddhist extremism as a hateful aberration. Pray that such extremism might create disillusionment and generate interest in the gospel.
