- Details: Preparations are in full swing for Ambassadors Football’s Global Team Gathering in Germany, October 14-21. Pray for Jon’s assistant Rahel, who is responsible for setting it up. They are expecting over 140 staff and board members. Pray that all will secure the visas needed to attend. Pray for new ministry starting in several countries in Europe following summer camps. Pray for church and community connections and fruitful ministry in Bologna, Italy. Pray for Goran to have wisdom to know how to support their partners in Belarus under the current political circumstances. Also, pray for wisdom and comfort for a ministry partner in Germany whose daughter is transitioning to a boy. Pray that all Ambassadors’ ministry partners in Europe will be immersed in God’s Word and grow in wisdom. Pray for Laura’s health issues, which have been quite challenging this year. Sri Lanka (Asia). Population: 21,949,268 Believers: 1.2%. Tolerance and non-violence have historically been watchwords of Sri Lanka. For centuries, it was a Buddhist kingdom that welcomed refugees from India fleeing persecution—Hindus, Muslims, and Christians. However, this multi-religious, multi-ethnic country now sees religious extremism and persecution rising. Persecution against Christians comes in waves, and at least 250 churches were destroyed or damaged in recent years. Beneath the layers of Buddhism and Hinduism, the ancient spirits, gods, and demons still hold power. Pray for the power of Christ to break these strongholds.
