How can God’s promises be true if the Israelites—God’s chosen people—rejected Jesus? The apostle Paul explained that it’s possible to be devoutly religious and zealous for God without actually having true knowledge of God. Those who try to earn His acceptance through good works, religious traditions, and striving to keep the Law are essentially refusing to receive God’s free gift of salvation. Christ’s life, death, and resurrection opened the door to eternal life, for those who believe. Will you believe?
